Exporting
Everything you can export lives in the Deliver Workspace, grouped by kind.
Documents
Section titled “Documents”- Markdown: for notes and sharing
- PDF: a print-ready document
- Plain Text: nothing but the words
- Word Document: formatted for Microsoft Word
Screenplay
Section titled “Screenplay”- PDF: a print-ready, industry-standard screenplay
- Fountain: plain-text screenplay format, for opening in another screenwriting app
There’s no .fdx export, because all that extra story data from your Throughline project has no place to go in Final Draft. Fountain is the industry-standard bridge if you need your pages in Final Draft or a similar tool; see Migrating from Final Draft if that’s where you’re headed.
Throughline Project
Section titled “Throughline Project”A .thrl file: your full project, not a lesser export of it. See The .thrl File Format for what that means and how backups fit alongside it.
Options and preview
Section titled “Options and preview”Every format has its own advanced options: outline mode, included sections, numbering, page size, and more, all detailed in Deliver. The preview pane updates live, so you see the real output before you commit to a file.
