Settings
Setting Cards represent locations in your story. They live in their own row above the Throughline in the Draft Workspace, alongside Characters.
What’s on a Setting
Section titled “What’s on a Setting”A Setting Card holds:
- Title
- Color, used to wrap Beats
- Description
Casting
Section titled “Casting”Drag a Setting Card onto a Beat and it becomes that Beat’s Setting, shown as a colored “sleeve” around the card. Unlike Characters, a Beat can only be associated with one Setting.
You can also pick a Setting in the Beat dialog, or in the Beat’s top bar in the Write Workspace.
In the script
Section titled “In the script”A Setting’s title feeds the location half of a scene heading, and stays linked. Change the Setting’s title later and the scene headings follow. See Formatting & Elements.
Recycling
Section titled “Recycling”Drag a Setting onto the recycling bin and it’s recycled, not gone. Open the bin and you can restore it exactly where it was.
